Hellnback also known as Karmen Omeasoo is from the Samson Cree Nation in Alberta. The community is part of the hub of Maskwacis Cree Nation south of Edmonton. A veteren in the native hip hop industry, Omeasoo has come a long way. Hellnback first gained international recognition as a founding member of the ground breaking group War Party. Moving from his native Alberta to Winnipeg, Manitoba in the early 2000’s, Hellnback co-founded the popular and respected rap crew WARPARTY and was the main stable member with the group Team Rezofficial. Hellnback is currently a solo artist who released his first album in 2015 titled #FOE Family Over Everything. The project earned two nominations at the 2015 Indigenous Music Awards for Best Album Cover and Best Rap/Hip Hop Album. Hellnback received the IMA's Most Outstanding Manitobans in 2015 and earned #4 on Ace Burpee's Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans at the time.
Hellnback released his second album titled #Fourteen91 in 2018. The album earned a nomination at the Indigenous Music Awards for Best Hip Hop/Rap Album and a nomination at the Western Canadian Music Awards for Indigenous Artist of the Year. The song "The Spirit" featuring Mob Bounce went #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. Throughout the refreshingly honest body of work, the artist not only bares scars but also celebrated the most important things in his life including integrity, community and most importantly, his family. He is currently working on a new music project and mentors aspiring artists who want to take a step in the industry. In 2019, Karmen Omeasoo was diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Failure due to complications from diabetes. He is a hemodialysis patient, who dialysis three times a week. He is currently on the transplant list and will begin a campaign to seek a kidney journey. Although faced with adversities, he still continues to contribute to music.

Hellnback is a hip hop performer and songwriter with high energy and stage presence. Not only does he share his skills, he also creates opportunities to share knowledge from his career. He featured on music projects with artists such as A Tribe Called Red, DJ Shub, Stun and more.
Not only does Hellnback contribute music with upcoming artists and aspiring youth. His album #Fourteen91 was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Indigenous Artist of the Year in 2019. Complex Magazine named Team Rezofficial's song "Lonely" listed ten in The 20 Best Canadian Rap Songs of All Time. He also won an Indigenous Music Award for "Most Outstanding Manitoban" for groundbreaking groups like Warparty and Team Rezofficial.
From songwriting, to learning the fundamentals of the music business, professional development and stage performance, he's provided important tools that aspiring artists will utilize in their own journey. He's been invited to speak on many panels and discussions around hip hop music. He is a very important voice in music. With today's technology and the impacts of Covid-19, Hellnback can also do workshops via Zoom.
Hellnback partnered with the Nephrologist Society of Canada to write the song Kidney Warrior with his wife Lisa. The song is to create awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Diabetes. Kidney disease is rampant in our Indigenous Communities. 1 in 3 Indigenous Canadians will suffer kidney disease. Despite health challenges, his outlet is music and TikTok.
